Hi. I dont mean to butt in, but I want you to know, it can be actually very much the reason that you have hyperintense foci and 2 small spots on the white matter in my brain, due to age......lesions are scar tissues and white spots can come from anything, even prior migrane headaches or prior viruses. You said you have had concussions, that would definately show scar tissue in the form of white spots.... If what you quoted is exactly what the MRI interpretation says, then it hardly means something is wrong....

Of course the other side of that is that a Spinal Tap is going to be totally inconclusive, unless you have meningitis or another brain infection like PML...its inconclusive for MS...

You also stated that your family doctor said that the MRI showed MS....why? What did he see? What did the radiologist who read the MRI say? MRIs are indicative of MS only in the fact that they can show the size, shape and placement of a MS lesion.....they cannot guarantee its MS.

Are you familiar with the McDonald Criteria? You might want to read up on it, its how doctors diagnose MS....its a combination of tests, ruling out alot of things, and symtoms and presentation. Most people do not get a MS dx quickly. I had one in under 72 hours...but then I had over 50 lesions all in the right place, all with the right symptoms and all my tests came back conclusive for autoimmune disease EXCEPT my spinal taps- those were always normal...no Obands for me.

I hope you arent jumping to conclusions that you have MS when its just as possible that you dont...please DO see that neuro you are talking about, the one who specializes in MS..they can both dx and rule out MS...
Stay well.
Nikki
