| I don't see any recent posts about Novantrone. Has anyone had any success with it? I have Secondary Progressive MS and have been progressing rather rapidly the past 3 or 4 years. I was diagnosed with Relapsing/Remitting in 1995 and started out using Betaseron. After about a year and a half, I switched to Avonex and stayed on it off and on until 2009. That is around the time my diagnosis changed to SP. Since then I have just been treated for symptoms. I started using a walker in 2010 for short distances and I use a wheelchair for longer distances. Lately I have not been able to get in and out of the house (up and down 3 steps) alone and have had to quit working. I can't walk more than a few steps (with walker) without losing upper body strength and bending over. Both of my arms and my back are sore from holding myself up and I have developed bursitis on my left elbow because I lean on it when lifting my self up out of a chair. I am hoping Novantrone will at least stop the progression and have heard of a few people that have improved some. My first infusion is August 2nd... this coming Tuesday. |
