I was just wondering if fasciculations are a common symptom in MS. I am currently on a muscle relaxer due to my muscle twitching, spasms and stiffness. The twitching is pretty much daily, I may have 1 to 2 good days. If I work or walk a distance the twitching becomes worse. I have them through out the day but they get worse at night when I try to relax. They put me on the muscle relaxer after a trip to the ER in the middle of the night. My whole body was jerking uncontrollably and my head would turn to one side.

I am scheduled to see an MS doctor at a really good hospital 3 hrs from my home but That's another month away. My pcp is stone set on it being MS. The twitching is actually one of the last symptoms to come along. About a year ago my right eye became very blood shot, painful, and the whole right side of my face and head had a tingling numb feeling, I could hardly hear out of my right ear, had swooshing sound in my right ear and my face started drooping. These symptoms came in attack like form, about the same time each month. I would finally recover then it started all over.

After 6 months of that it's like I could feel it move down my body. The next set of symptoms were in my neck, shoulder and arm all on my right side. After one attack I couldn't even stir my dinner, open bottles or right with out pain in my hand. My hand would fall asleep, I'd have electric like shook feeling in my finger tips and once my arm went numb and my hand became hot. About 1 month after that is when the twitching all over started, more so in my legs. The symptoms then became weakness, numbness and pain in both my legs. So weak I felt as if they weren't there, that day was when I went to the ER over my body jerking.

Yesterday I decided to get up and rearrange my house. I went to bed twitching more than usual even after taking my meds. Woke up today and my right eye, face, ear, and shoulder are hurting. My body is twitching but it's more in my face and eyes today. I think people think I am crazy, making things up or just lazy. I don't know what is wrong but I just want to be normal again. I am concerned with the twitching in my temple that just started not long ago, twitching near my heart and my heart skipping a beat. Is that normal for MS. Trying not to freak out anymore because there as been so many strange things happen with my body in the last year but sometimes it is hard. Like seeing that fasciculations occur more commonly in Lou Garrett's and my grandma just died from that.
