 Welcome.

Do your symptoms persist/continue for long periods? Did the neuro check for your Babinski reflex? Believe it or not, this simple test is an important neurologic test. If the big toe goes up, that may mean trouble. Keep in mind- MAY mean trouble.

The MRI with sedation is helpful. If lesions are not visible on a head and cervical image, ask for a VEP.

Could it be MS? Yes-no-maybe...... it is simply too difficult to know. If your neuro is an MS Specialist, then you are on the right path. There are over 400 diseases which can present with MS like symptoms. Lyme disease, Vitamin D deficiency, Fibro.....a blood workup will pinpoint or exclude many of the diseases.

The Babinski reflex is not a definite test because some people will curl down and still have MS. I call it the foot scrape! My toes have pointed up since 1982 when I had my first visit with the neuro.

I had no children in 1982. In 2002 when I had to take disability, I had a 12 year old and a 3.5 year old at home. They both came through without a problem. I was pretty much using a power chair at the time, but we could still do a lot. I am no longer in a power chair unless I am at my desk and napping in it. Now my boys 21 and 13 (in a week) are both at the university and I am there most every day with the youngest. MS is not fatal. For me, after a 20 year career, I adjusted to being a homeschool teacher and now I am a chaperone. God blesses us abundantly. You have nothing to fear. As long as you are "there" for your little ones, you will be a blessing to them and their future.
