Hey, I'm new to this but I don't know who else to ask.. I went to the doctor the past Friday because I've been having really bad headaches and the past seven months I was having on and off random symptoms: double vision, loss of sensation in my right hand, electric shock feeling when I bend my neck, tingling in my right arm, and dizziness/ fuzzy feeling. I had a baby in September and the symptoms showed up a couple months before he was due but the doctors kept coming up with reasons for all of my symptoms but none of the meds were helping. Anyway, Friday I met with a different doctor and he sent me in for an emergency MRI of my brain and spine and the found "numerous" lesions on my brain and some on my upper spine. He said they all seem to be "inactive" too. They did a lumbar puncture but I won't have the results for another month but the neurologist said its probably MS and he started me on a high dose of IV steriods for three days but it made everything worse. My head hurts so much worse and my right side feels more numb than usual. I'm also having blurry vision in my right eye. I'm trying to stay calm and positive but I'm so scared. I don't want to go paralyzed or blind. I've heard so many different things about MS so I just wanted some advice from people who actually have a diagnosis. Is it as horrible as everyone says? Am I doomed to be in a wheel chair or even worse? Do you think there's any hope that it could be something else wrong with me? & for the people that have it, how long have you had it and how bad are your symptoms? Like are you in a wheel chair or not? Blind in one eye? Can I still go to college and get a job with MS? I know I have a lot of questions but I'm just really scared. I want to be able to take care of my son and give him a good life.
