... I have a very strange case of Knee Buckling. Info. 76 years old, taking 85 mg of diuretics daily to keep from retaining fluid, oxygen therapy, using a nebulizer 2 3 times daily. COPD, CHF, shortness of breath, but no pain anywhere except night time leg cramps. My knees have buckled on several occasions in the last 4 months resulting in 3 falls. The oddity is this always... ... Lower back pain could be due to compression on a nerve on your spine and not MS related. In terms of the knee buckling, really hard to say. It could be possible from your brain not communicating with that body part but again, unto itself wouldn't necessarily be an MS symptom. Years ago when I was getting into a cab, my knee buckled out from under me for no apparent reason... (8 replies)

I spent a few years in my power chair, but got back to walking with the help of my service dog. Later a severe attack left my left leg dragging. ... Hi, it's been awhile since I posted about maybe having ms. It was actually last march that my neuro said at the age of 57 my MRI he prescribed showed white matter that could be onset of ms but most likely is age related. ... You asked is this typical of diagnosing MS? no, it isnt. If you want more information on diagnosis of MS, please take a look at the revised McDonald criteria, which is what doctors must follow in order to dx MS. Knees buckling, isnt a symtom of MS in itself...however, muscle weakness may be. You mentioned that you have other risk factors and symptoms which point towards... (4 replies)

... In 1997, I developed ON in the left eye and then numbness from the pelvis down and my left knee was buckling. I was hospitalized for 5 days, during that time I was given IV steroids and while on them, symptoms abated but when I came home from the hospital, I felt like a truck had run me over and this lasted several weeks. ... Hi, cboshers. I'm guessing that a search for buckled knee brought you here... It's really not a symptom that unto itself screams MS even though as you can read in the posts below, some of us have experienced it.
