Oh ok. I did read quite a few websites and the main things I could find were the neck and achilles weakness. I didn't know about the facial things. I was curious of the differences for my own personal knowledge and because you had mentioned that not all the symptoms of Bethlems matched yours. After reading your last post I assume that's because you have the added symptoms of neck weakness, mild facial weakness etc., correct? What is scapular winging? Lol let me know what else you can find (if anything). It's a rainy day here and my arms and still hurting me to even move them. Lesson learned! :dizzy: lol
I've just been having a look on some websites as well and I think the other difference are that Bethlem can often have skin changes as a symptom which show as rough (plucked chicken appearence) skin on upper arms and lower legs and improper healing of scars (they appear raised and have thin silvery appearence) I don't think this skin feature is in every case of Bethlem though.
Another difference is the contractures; in Bethlem it seems they affect the heel, hips and elbow and all fingers but in Laing it is just the heel and 3rd and 4th fingers on the hands. I don't know if this could vary case to case though.
Scapular winging is just when the muscles in the shoulder become weak and don't hold the shoulder blades properly; I don't if I am describing very well there but that's my understanding of it lol.
I'm in a bit of pain today as well :( because I decided to walk up a huge hill near my house :dizzy: I am walking like a zombie today because my right leg is so sore :p gonna get a hot bath later which usually sorts it out :)

Yes, that is another feature I have, the plucked chicken looking skin on my arms and legs. It looks like you have goosebumps all time. I don't have improper healing of scars though (I don't think). Yep, and my contractures are in all of those areas. I think I understand better about the differences now. Thanks for clearing that up! :) It was driving me crazy.

I think I understand your description of scapular winging.

I'm sorry that you are in pain too. Sometimes I wonder how these things can happen and they are so rare. I think Bethlem's is 1 in every 200,000 people. My parents have a hot tub that I can use so that's probably what I'll do later. :p
