... It is best to keep the nails DRY if you possibly can. I would suggest washing your feet with a damp washcloth rather than immersing the toenail in water. If the white portion is an opening into the nail bed, the addred water can be a breeding grownd for bacteria or fungal spores. ... (3 replies)
