This is my first post. I was diagnosed with UlnarNerveEntrapment 6 years ago, and have been able to manage the pain during flare ups through chiropractics, acupuncture, stretching... but the pain never really goes away. I met with a surgeon 9 months ago who recommended the release surgery, but is now recommending the transposition surgery due to the pain severity and noticeable (yet still very minor) muscle atrophy between my 4th and 5th fingers area on the top side of my hand.
Can anyone please provide me more insight about the recovery process? How long were you on medications, and did you mostly just lie in bed? What kinds of medications are usually given? What is a fiberglass cast like?
I've never had any kind of surgery whatsoever, so saying I'm nervous is an understatement.
