I have had neuropathy for a while now and didn't know that I even had it up until about a year ago. I went to the doctor to get medicine for the pain in my feet because it had been getting worse. I have felt the pins and needle pain in my feet for a number of years now, maybe 8 or 9 years but it was never really bad until about a year ago when I couldn't work an 8 hour shift anymore. I told my doc at the time and he told me that I had neuropathy so he put me on 100 mg of gabapentin. I started taking that and my feet did feel a little better but I still had nights where I couldn't stand working long shifts. So I went to another doc, the one I have now and she had been running a bunch of tests to see what was wrong. I even went to go see a podiatrist to get fitted for orthotics. I started wearing them and my feet felt a little better but was still painful to stand. So I finally got to see a neurologist and he took this metal thing with sharp points or whatever and he tapped my cheek with it and I was like ouch that hurt, then he tapped my forehead and I almost punched him because it hurt even worse. I asked him why he did that and he said because he wanted me to feel the pain so I would know on my legs. At first I thought he had a screw loose until he did it to my feet and legs. I was shocked to find out that my leg is numb all the way up to my knee. At this time I am still on the gabapentin but my boyfriend had to stop taking his because his doctor put him on something else, so I was taking his 300 mg dosage which was making me feel a lot better. So my neurologist asked me what I was taking and I told him I was taking the 100 but took a 300 when I had a bad night at work. So he put me on 30 mg of Cymbalta and told me to take the gabapentin only if I was going to have a bad night at work, so I did that for 30 days. The pain in my feet really didn't improve but my anxiety and getting anxious at work did, my mood swings were better, but I was picking at my lip and my feet so bad that I was drawing blood. So now he has me on the 60mg of Cymbalta and I have been on it for 3 days now. Well last night I went to bed at 2 am and slept until 4pm waking up a couple of times to go to the bathroom and getting something to eat. When I was on the 30 mg of Cymbalta for the month I had a few days where I would sleep a couple extra hours, but crap I slept the whole day away yesterday.

I am just wondering if I should give it 30 days and see what happens and if not have him put me on something else, this really sucks.
