I changed from 1800mg neurontin a day to Cymbalta 40mg a day. The pain got worse so I had to switch back. Cymbalta did nothing as where neurontin did help some. I would like to know if there are other drugs approved fornervepain.( Other than narcotics ). :blob_fire
THere is another drug coming out that is for neuropathy but is not on the market yet. My pain specialist said she wished it would hurry up. I tried the Cymbalta but it made my heart race. After 6 years and trying many different things, the only one that works for me is hydroco/apap 10/325. I do take one 400 Neurontin about 3 hours before bedtime and the pain pill just before bedtime. Nervepain is a different animal from other kinds of pain. Good luck in finding something that will work for you.
I had sciatica really bad before I had my back surgery and hydroco/apap was the only one that worked for that also. Neurontin really doesn't do a lot for me and I just can't handle it during the day. I can't function mentally on it.
