Yes, I tried effexor for pain right along with cymbaltaand several others and could not adjust to them.They put me on zanaflex,which is used to treat spacticity(muscle cramps)It's used for Spinal cord injury's and Multiple Sclerosis.I Have had 2 back surgerys and MS.This has left my right ankle with nervedamage.It not only helped with the muscle spasms,it has helped a great deal in the ankle for pain.It pin points the painand it only goes to that area,it don't alter your entire body like these medications that are timed released.My doc things I have a reaction to the time released angent in those types of drugs.If I have any degree of pain I can now take over the counter pain pills for that.
