I am a new member to this site looking for advice.

Approximately 4 months ago I underwent a right ureter reimplantation with a psoas hitch for an obstructed right ureter. The procedure was done with the daVinci robot. Immediately after surgery I had an extreme burning sensation along my inner right thigh, down to the knee, and decreased mobility in my right leg, which I attributed to the surgery. When the condition worsened over the next few weeks my urologist referred me to a neurologist. I had numerous MRI scans to rule out the lumbar spine or a pathology in the psoas muscle as the source of my symptoms - all have been negative. I was placed on bedrest and a 10 day course of Prednisone, which relieved my symptoms slightly. As soon as I resumed normal activity, the symptoms came back and are now worse than before. My surgery was vidoe taped and reviewed by both the neurologist and urologist, who state that the obturator and genitofemoral nerve were isolated and visualized to the side of the hitch and not entrapped as originally suspected.

Over the past few weeks the pain and numbness has spread to my right calf, right big toe and right arch. In addition, I experience spasms (this is what the neurologist states they are) and I have horrible back pain. I have a horrible limp, can't straighten my right leg or lift my right leg from a sitting position. I have completed another round of Prednisone with no relief. My leg is extremely weak and by the end of the day I feel as though all I can do is drag it.

I have conatcted a neurosurgeon who is suspicious that the femoral nerve, or possibly the entire lumbar plexus, is being pulled by the hitch. He is ordering an MRI of the lumbar plexus and an EMG.

Does anyone have any have an experiences or advice that they coudl share?

Thanks!
