Hi Cindy and thank you for your nice words.... yes, gluten sensitivity is a very possible cause of Small fibre PN, pity it seems to get over looked a lot of times, I read one study that said 5% of unexplained neuropathy patients were from gluten sensitivity, I really do think your doing a wonderful job of trying to sort out the culprits,..... the ups and downs of pain in my case was the nerves actually healing which can be very easily confused with worsening of symptoms, I am not saying its the case with Mike but just a thought, with this very confusing illness.

My choice of supplements I choose for my case.
1 multi B vitamin in the morning
B12 1mg - 5 mg daily [on an empty stomach] I take mine before bed.
R lipioc acid 1 tab of 100 mg daily [strong antioxidant]
Acetyl-L-Carnatine - 500 mg. 2/day [works well with lipioc acid]
Folate or folic acid - Up to 1200 mcg. 1/day
Vit C 250- 500 mg. /day [antioxidant]
Vit E - 400 iu /day [antioxidant]
Gamma Linolic acid 2 x 240 mg day [small amounts are found in evening primrose oil] may assist in nerve function.

I personally wouldn't leave any stone unturned looking for answers, it will be interesting to find out what comes out of the holistic approach and what supplements they choose, please keep us informed.

Take care
Aussie :)
