what causes burning sensation in the legs
Hi, there are a lot of reasons why the burning happens, most commonly elevated blood sugars can be one reason, can come from the lower spine as well, plus many other reasons and unknown causes, best to get checked out by a neuro that is a neuropathy expert.

good luck
Aussie :)
My feet feel numb and I have a burning feeling in my legs - like a bad sunburn. My doctor tested my B-12 and it was normal. He put me on gabapentin (neurontin). I was on it for 6 months and it did nothing for my problem. Last week my doctor prescribed Lyrica. I take 50mg 3xs a day and I definitely feel a 75% improvement. It might work for you.
If you have neuropathy the burning is one of the symptoms. Others are numbness and sharp pains. My thighs burned intently before I started on Lyrica at 100mg twice a day, it also helped with numb feet and sharp pains in the feet and ankles. I have to agree with caringaj that Lyrica it is a good drug for neuropathy. In my case Lyrica is mixed with cymbalta.
