Pain after EMG test

I've been being treated for bi-lateral carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel, tennis elbow outside and inside, and on one hand the muscle on the side of my thumb. I've been seeing a hand surgeon for these for approx. 4 months and he thought it may be coming from my neck, so he sent me for an EMG today.

They said there is no damage to my arms - and they jabbed me once or twice in the back of my neck. Within an hour my neck got sore, and it's been about 9 hours now and I can't turn my head. Is this normal?
