I don't understand, it has been years and I still struggle with this pain. It is a dull ache, almost like a bad toothache in my arm. Much of it is around the elbow where I had the surgery, lots of pain in the forearm too, sore forearm muscles, the pain can radiate anywhere from the upper back and shoulder all the way down the arm and into the hand!

I might go for a second opinion.
Lots of possibilities?
1) The Ulnar nerve didn't transpose correctly. 2) The surgery created scar tissue that is affecting other things. 3) The limited movement after the surgery caused secondary mechanical problems.
I hope you will receive this message. I have had the surgery and feel I am in worse condition than before. I have difficulty even typing this reply. Yes our hands are necessary for most everything. I can't give you any advise because I took the Physician's advice only to end up with more problems. I hope you find an answer and I hope you will find relief from the pain.

Dyanna, where is your pain? Forearm, elbow or wrist?
Richedie, your idea of getting that second opinion is excellent. Don't wait. Nerve pain may mean nerve damage. How you've stood it so long is incredible. I'm experiencing something like that from a pacemaker implanted last year. I've never recovered from the pain which runs up my left arm and down my back. Fortunately it is not very strong. Surgeries do damage nerves, but perhaps some kind of special exercise can help you. I think that even though a lot of time has passed, you should let the doctor who did the surgery know the pain you've been feeling. All the best of luck.
