The as I call them Zap Tests aren't that bad and don't take long so you can do it! They will probably also do a blood test and for me I also had a Spinal Tap(which wasn't bad at all) and they removed some of my left Ankle Nervefor a Biopsy(which is now painful and the Biopsy didn't prove anything).
I've had PN since 07...started w/my toes then feet...after a few months move up to my calves and then to my hands. I'm in pain every second I'm awake. So I'd say over time it has gotten worse. I take 3600mg of Neurontin daily to help w/my PN, it makes it so I can live but does NOT take all the pain away and I have some days worse then others. As I tell K my days are painful or awful. BUT have to live it the best I can..play the hand I was dealt and try to be positive....I'm doing my best to NOT let PN run my life.
That said you need to be checked, it could be as simple as you having a Vitamin Deficiency.
This board has great people w/a lot of information.
I hope you have a pain free day and find the answers you are looking for.
