Hi, I recently (August 21)
had carpal tunnel release surgery. 48 hrs after surgery I was told to remove the large bandage. At that time I realized I could not feel my pinky and ring finger.. Weeks passed and it never got better. Now I m on my 12th PT session. Today I had a EMG test once again..test confirms that I have damage to my ulnar nerve. Test results are being sent to surgeon and now I wait to see what's he has in store for me. Note: I did not have constant knumbness in these two fingers prior to surgery. The doctor who performed the EMG stated that the nerve was damaged during surgery. Has anyone run into this before? What can I expect to have done to help this damage and get back to using my hand...constant dropping items, weakness, can't open jar lids, lift books with one hand, wear gloves, coldness to hands, especially at pinky. I am a righty and it's my right hand that's affected...can't blow my nose, brush my teeth, hold a pencil to write(I often can't read my own hand writing). Please advise...
