Hello,
I'm new, 21 and in relatively good shape. Despite that I woke one morning to sharp stabs in my right hand and thought nothing of it. Then two days later the pain returned full force when I woke up. From the fingers of my right hand to almost every part of my body throughout the day. Pins and needles everywhere sporadically. There was even a burning in between my shoulder blades and tender collar bone. Laying on my back caused the burning to spread to the entire back. A slight headache every now and again. I took and aspirin and went to the ER the next morning. (Sharp abdominal stabs on left side noted after taking the aspirin)

In the ER a blood test was taken and I was giving Midol (on a somewhat empty stomach and yes I questioned that one.) They told me about peripheral neuropathy and sent me home. I had a lot of sharp/burning abdominal pain on the left side and headaches consecutively afterward. I still have to go to the doctor tomorrow to confirm.

Only the other day I had serious cardiovascular distress. As I walked to work my heart began to pain me to point where I needed to rest. I don't remember seeing that symptom. I also had heart palpitations and light headed sensation. I wondered if my heart was damaged so I did exercise tests and nothing. My heart operates normal. I even jogged for crying out loud. So PLEASE if you have any idea what the heck this is share by all means. Also sorry this was so long.

Hi. Well, glad you are doing a follow up dr appointment (is that with your regular doctor)? Let me tell you, even though I love my regular doctor, she doesn't know much about neuropathy. Don't be afraid to go to a neurologist. Your symptoms to me sound unlike others I have heard aside from the burning, stabbing stuff. However, everyone seems to have it a little bit differently. See what your regular doctor says and get a referral to a neurologist if you think you should, especially if that burning, tingling continues. They will do more tests but... Best to you! amy
