I have been diagnosed with ulnar neropathy in my left arm. I have been having issues with the arm and hand falling asleep during the day and always at night. I have been having these issues for over ten years. My doctor says that I have muscle weakness in that hand and I can tell that I do because I am always dropping things with that hand. I also have tingling and numbness in my pinky and ring finger and pain in my arm and in the elbow. I was sent by my orthopedic doctor to get a nerve conduction test on that arm. I found out that my test came back normal. All the nerves he tested were fine. I am wondering if I can still have the ulnar nerve neropathy and have a normal test result? My orthepdic doctor is referring me to a hand surgeon to discuss me having ulnar nerve transposition surgery. I am wondering if they will still want me to have surgery even though my nerve conduction test came back normal? Also how long does it take after you have the surgery till your nerve starts to heal and feel normal again?
