... Hi Cocoa76 I feel bad for u as I had the same problem with my GP. He would not run any tests and the only pain med he would give me is Tylenol 3. I have SFN-Do You?
Sep 21, 2009
... What a great topic Will, I too have tried to reduce meds or eliminate things I wondered about with mixed result. I quit Lyrica after a year and found that I was correct, it really was not helping my pain anymore, it was a trade off though, it apparently was helping my bowels from spasming so now I am on hyoMax for that. I quit amyltriptaline(sp) elevil, it was not helping with... (113 replies)
... I have SFN, unkown reasons but I also have pre-diabetes so the neuro decided maybe treating with metformin would help. I am on 1000mg. per day I have not had any relief of the neuropathies at all but my fasting BG has come down alittle, its been a couple of months now. Only good things since metformin for me is I've lost 15 lbs, but when I started the metformin I also was... (7 replies)
... HI, I have developed neuropathy from seroquel. My dr. stopped it. I had to go to a neurologist. I am now on neuronton for the numbing, tingling, and pain. For me it starts on the top of my head and travels to my face and arms. Google some more information on "dangers of prozac" and believe me you will get information that is not put out on standard medical journals. (2 replies)
... I have peripheral neuropathy. Two years ago I started on prozac for depression and my feet and forearms began to burn. I was on prozac for only four days and then switched to celexa. The burning continued and spread to my back within two months. I never had any neuropathy signs until I started prozac. Has anyone had a similar experience from these meds? (2 replies)

... Hi Tammy, This is what I found:TRAMADOL may interact with CITALOPRAM (in Celexa) Both citalopram and tramadol have an effect on serotonin, a chemical that is found in the brain. Excess levels of serotonin in the brain may cause serious or potentially life-threatening side effects. Early signs of this problem include increased confusion and restlessness. Other possible... ... Hi Sherri! Ultram is a very short acting SSRI but does have a substantial amount of serotonin reuptake pump inhibiting activity. It also has narcotic activity. It works by being processed into codeine by the liver and can produce feelings of euphoria. So there is also some antidepressent activity with the "feel good" aspect. You can't take another SSRI with Ultram but... (2 replies)

... I was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy in January of this year. All the tests my neurologist did to determine the cause of the neuropathy came out normal-no diabetes, no vitamin deficiency, no AIDS, etc. A prescription for Elavil was given for the PN. I had to stop using it, as it didn't help at all-especially when I was also taking Celexa. The medications, taken ... (6 replies)
