... I have painful neuropothy and when I first stand up I almost loose my balance. Does loosing balance go along wtih neuropothy? I am starting stretching therapy for calfs and feet with a physical therapist. Has anyone tried the Re-Builder? It gives electrial impulse to the feet and it is recommended for neuropothy. It is expensive but I'll try anything to get relief.... (4 replies)

I am pre-diabetic and on a clinical trial at UT Southwestern here in Dallas taking insuline to see if I can avoid full blown diabites. ... Hi, Losing your balance is very common with neuropathy. Some of us have even described the funny ways we now walk. I decided I walk like Charlie Chaplin. You must make sure you have light but sturdy shoes and always watch where you are stepping. I know some have even used a cane until they get used to a new way of walking.
