... Hi there, Yes Cymbalta and Lyrica put a "hole in my pocket" as well. In Europe Cymbalta's generic name is Duloxetine and Lyrica's is Pregabalin. When traveling there I hope to stock up. I will need prescriptions written for these generic drugs which are the same as the "brand" names. I guess I cannot complain too much if it were not for pharmaceuticals this country would... ... Sorry I didn't take the two together but when I was on Cymbalta, it helped me I immensely. I had to stop it bc of insurance. Now I take venlafaxine which works also and isn't as expensive. I take Gabapentin also, 600 a day and it helps. Good luck! (5 replies)
... I have taken upwards of 600mg of Lyrica a day after Gabapentin. I use the Lyrica with 60 mg of Cymbalta and the two work well for neuropathy. The problem some people have is that they run out of "head room" and need stronger meds after a time for the same relief. I have had a spine fusion and before the operation they had me on Lyrica and Oxycodone and that combination works... (5 replies)

I can tell you what has worked for me and what hasnt and I've been fighting this for 10 years now so I've tried all the meds a couple of times and different dosages and different combinations of these drugs. ... Hi, I am new to this forum. I was diagnosed with diabetic peripheral neuropathy in August of 2012. I was put on Gabapentin and Nortriptylene. I am at 600 mg three times per day of Gabapentin and was only on 10 mg of notriptylene. (sorry about the spelling) I went off the nortriptylene two weeks ago, as my therapist wants me to go on Cymbalta for depression as well as nerve... (5 replies)

... ight gaining. I never weigh more than 132 regardless of what i eat or do. I am now on 30mg of cymbalta but it does not seem to help out either. Am diagnosed with peripheal neurophy. ... I have pn and I am on four different meds for pain, I don't really think the meds do me much good. I still can't talk over 4 feet, before I am on the floor with so much pain. ... Ladybug, I know that anxiety aggrevates PN & I wonder if the diagnosis is worrying your mother. Perhaps something like Xanax (in small doses) would calm her & relieve the PN pain. I have had great success with Lyrica but be careful with this. In my experience it dulled my thinking, I only take it at night for that reason, but if one doesn't have to drive, etc., it's the... ... My doctor gave me LYRICA, starte at 75mg 2x a day, then uped it to 150mg 2x a day. It says the worst side effect is drowsiness, I couldn't tell you about that. I have always suffered from fatigue. But, I don't think my fatigue has worsened in any way, if that helps. I do know that the pain has no sharpness to it, and I don't well up with tears when I walk. ... I used to take Neurotin too - was up to 2700mg per day when my dr tried a different drug. I have had a lot of relief from the neuropathy by taking Topamax-150 mg twice a day. Only side effect I have had is a little drowsiness. And after I got used to taking it that went away. Started with 25mg and worked up to 150mg to find dose that helped me. Hope this helps. ... Yes, although i'm no medial professional, I think you are right body weight has something to do with dosage needs. Sadly, Peripheral Neuropathy ( PN ) is NOT a disease. That's why there is no one defiante cure for everyone. PN is an overall descriptive term to loosly describe a lot of diff sensations.
