Hi Mike, alcohol is a neurotoxin so it is very important to continue to keep away from it, lots of alcohol over time can deplete B1 levels, but i guess your doctor has done blood tests to check your thiamine levels given the diagnoses, but anyway nerves need all the vitamin B vitamins & all of them need each other to work properly, i would suggest taking a multi B every day,... ... I have an extremely high tolerance for pain. I do take some supplements which have helped me, including Alpha Lipoic Acid and B vitamins, which seem to help the nerves repair. I really try to avoid getting too tired, which always aggravates the nerves. Some people have reported success with Cymbalta for their symptoms. ... (2 replies)
