Osteoporosis Message Board

Osteoporosis Board Index

I've posted before on here about my wife's problems with pain, catches, osteopenia, the whole nine yards. Well, I've joined the party.

I was having some pain in my back two weeks ago, and went to our clinic. The FNP recommended some phys. therapy. I did that, and got better. But, the X-rays revealed a problem.

It seems some vertebrae are not stacked in straight as they should be, but are wedging at an angle, causing the possibility of compression and osteo. I don't know how osteo can be "caused" by this, but that's what she said.

I'm going to have a bone density picture made, but haven't been called yet as to the date.

Guess this now makes me a member in good standing of the board now!
As for my wife, we don't know what to try next. The chiro dismissed her with his hands in the air, it seemed. The next thing for her may be a very unaffordable MRI. The FNP didn't disagree when I brought this up.

We'll keep those interested about us, up on it all, and .... Thanks!

Tony,

Are you sure the doc wasn't referring to osteoarthritis and not osteoporosis?
