A year ago I had the DEXA showing osteopenia. I am due for another one this wk. My past Dr. had me on fosomax, but after reading folks comments on it I chose to go solo. When my nuero heard that I stopped the fosamax he was a bit upset. My current family Dr. saw me today & agreed that fosomax will kill the bones & will look into any other drugs for "younguns" that won't kill the cells. Are there any out there? I'm 35.
Thanks!

I would think that with your age and bone loss still in the "penia" stage (not "porosis") that you could benefit from alternative supplementation and avoid the toxic effects of the drugs. Make sure you are getting the right kind of calcium and that it is actually absorbable. When you take it is also important. Vitamin K and Vitamin D are necessary as well to help with absorption. Magnesium (I take more than calcium) is also essential as well as natural progesterone cream. Lastly, if you are not already doing so, weight-bearing exercise is vitally important.

All the best!
