We'll know more when he gets the results of the blood draw he ordered done after our "visit". Since the last blood draw done 3 months ago by the original Endo for the first time revealed an elevated vitamin D level, the PTH level not at all reduced (altho still w/in "normal" reference ranges), the serum calcium level somewhat above "normal" reference ranges and the ionized calcium level somewhat lower than usual but still well w/in "normal" reference ranges after almost a year of high vitamin D dosing he very much doubts that I have or even had secondary hyperparathyroidism. I am to stop taking the vitamin D entirely, at least until he gets the results of this blood draw, and then most likely he will start me on Forteo. He will keep my ob/gyn and my family doctor fully informed. HIs thinking and mine were quite similar.
