Thank you so much for replying to my question. I see you posting on so
many posts. You are a great help to everyone with your knowledge and
concern, so thank you from all!!!

I was considering the Forteo, my reg doc had mentioned that the last time
I was in to see her, but she wanted some time to think about it as she
knows I have other medical issues that cause problems. When I came in
this time, she mentioned to try the Fortical. We know I cannot take the
Biosphosphatides because of stomach problems and actually from what I
have read and heard, I don't want to take those. My concern with Forteo
is only being able to take it for 2 yrs and then having to find something
else anyway. Also I am concerned about the osteosarcoma.

Yes I was interested in the Isoflavones. Actually my alternative doc had
recommended Ipriflavone Plus. That is a synthetic isoflavinoid which I
understand would not have the estrogen effects to contribute to breast
or ovarian cancer as the Isoflavones could. My mother died of ovarian
cancer, this is the reason I never wanted to be on Est/Prog after menopause.
Side effect of the Ipriflavone is a possibility of lowering the white blood count
and also the alt doc said it will not help the osteoporosis, it will keep it from
getting worse, and it will improve the osteopenia.
So-----doesn't leave me much!!!

Now I decided to go w/ at least the Fortical and started it yesterday. I took
it about 1:30 pm. By 4 p.m. I didn't feel right. Felt like my breathing was
just not right, almost like mild hyperventilation. I thought it was just my
anxiety problem kicking in because I had to take my dad for surgery yesterday
morning. Didn't connect it with the Fortical. Took it today about 11:30 a.m.
By 1:30 p.m. had the same restless, fidgity, slight hyperventive feeling again,
now I am beginning to think its the Fortical. I am not going to take it
tomorrow and see how I feel and then try again on Mon. It is calcitonin-
salmon, maybe have a sensitivity to the salmon or one of the inactive
ingredients. Gee, I really feel like I'm up a creek here!!!!!!!:dizzy:

I'm going to talk to my alternative doctor in regard to the strontium when I
see him later this month.

My scores were: Lumbar spine T score -2.32.
Proximal femur at the total hip -3.79
Z score of -2.69 indicating significan osteoporosis in
comparison to age-match controls.
Thanks again for your kind reply.
