Osteoporosis Message Board

| Hello all! I am a 37 year old male recently diagnosed with severe osteoporosis in wrists. I had a BMD test yesterday. My doctor prescribed Foxamax and a calcium supplement. After doing a lot of reading, I am not planning on taking Foxamax at all -- scares me to death. Since I have had kidney stones, I don't think I will take the calcium supplements. I think I get plenty of calcium from my diet (I drink a lot of chocolate milk and stuff), but I don't get hardly any sun for the vitamin D. I also don't drink caffeine, but I do drink caffiene free pepsi. I am also quite inactive and I am also small-boned, too. So, what else besides exercise can I do to help improve my bone density? Also, are BMD tests accurate for men? I am also considering forteo or maybe a nasal spray. One more thing, I have never had a fracture of any sort. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!
