Hi -- my gp is recommending that I use Calcitonin nasal spray for the osteoporosis in my lower back. I tried Fossamax and had terrible side effects -- terrible pain in my leg muscles, and lots of hair loss. I take 1500 calcium and 1000 vitamin D each day -- but she wants me to add this. I am diabetic, on blood pressure and high cholesterol meds; in addition, I am on Advair for a chronic cough, and have had nose bleeds (not bad ones) from fluconase and from low humidity. I've talked to my gp and the phamacist -- and they both believe I could tolerate Calcitonin -- but I'm a little afraid of it. What do you think?
