Since I have osteo, my bone loss is over 30% in my back and I have had a couple small stress fractures in the upper back over the years. My hips have lost as much as 40% and this last year I did exercises that aimed at toning the hips and I gained back 10% of my bone mass and I'm not taking actenol or anything, I don't like them cuz my GERD goes nuts when I took them so I don't anymore. I eat lots of calcium and Vit D foods, I also became a vegetarian this last year and that may have helped as well. I knew from my orthopedic therapist what machines I could use and how many pounds of weights to use which is very important in preventing fractures or other injuries as well!
