What part of the inferior Volunteer State did you move to?
Hi, Kentucky Girl ~~

I'm in Nashville, and Tennessee's not a bad place to live. My heart will always be in the Bluegrass though..... I was born in Lexington but moved to Louisville when I was 10.

I don't think you'll have any trouble giving yourself the Forteo injections and hope you don't have any side effects. I don't know what I'll take when my 2 years are up, but right now, just want to see the results from next week's Dexa scan.

What are your T-scores?

Are you seeing an Endocrinologist? I am, but don't seem to be getting much from her, to be honest. I don't know what else she can do, really, but it seems like I'm just "out there" on my own to figure all this out. When I mentioned osteonecrosis from the Forteo she just dismissed it. Likewise with my concern over taking bisphosphonates. I like to think she's invested in my health, but am not convinced.

Keep in touch and let us know how you progress.

Kentucky Girl, you mentioned your Grandmother having osteoporosis. My Grandmother (Winchester, Kentucky) had osteoporosis so bad that she spent the last 10 years of her life confined to bed in a nursing home. She was healthy otherwise, and mentally she was sharp as a tack, but she was terribly fragile from this disease. I don't like the idea of me ending up in a nursing home for the same reason, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit. Good for your 90-year-old Mamow!
