... If anyone knows the info on reading of a DEXA while on strontium could you let me know. Here is what my doc said "The bone mineral density data cannot be relied upon because strontium has a higher atomic number than calcium so that BMD will increase simply if strontium substitutes for calcium in bone mineral. ... H Karin...you ask about adjustments for strontium in the other post, but if you are taking both strontium and boniva at the same time i don't know what kind of asjustments would need to be made. ... My doctor was more than willing to write a script for the renalate in the UK but more than likely his perscription wouldn't be good in the UK and I might not be able to get a years supply. If I didn't like it once I got it I'd be stuck with it so, instead I went with the citrate. And yes, my doc from the Mayo Clinic finally returned my call and said the Boniva should be fine... ... That is very interesting that your doc wants you to do the boniva plus the strontium. That is the first that I have heard of that.
