... The option of some clinical trial is not available to me in this area. Therefore, it wouldn't be too smart of me to stop the Forteo at this point. ... (73 replies)

... FYI I have been off this medication for at least 6 weeks and I'm still fighting the weight. I exercise almost every day, carefully watch my calorie intake and still I'm putting on more weight than I've ever had. I questioned my dr about this and he looked it up on his computer. ... (13 replies)

... Well, I wasn't encountering any pouchy gut, just this layer of soft, flabby tissue across the abdominal area. I can not say w/certainty it was due to the Forteo abdominal injections - but - I haven't given myself any Forteo injections in the abdomen since this thread was started or even before (haven't gone back to the first page to check the date) - and - the flab or rolls of... I could go on forever on things that made me gain weight, "I think" around the same time as Forteo, but I doubt the culprit is the med. ... (73 replies)
... I had switched to my thighs for about a month, but I'm sure that any weight gain I've had has not been Forteo-related, but just plain not watching what I eat related. Anyway, since it's easier to just open the top button of my pants to give the shot in the belly, I went back to that. So I'm pretty much back to using the belly exclusively. I didn't notice anything different... (73 replies)

... I've not found Forteo to cause weight gain for me, just that flabby roll in the abdomen which hasn't gone away nor increased since I quit giving my Forteo in the abdomen. I think it was more muscle tone than weight or fat. I'm well into my 3rd year on Forteo. I had GREAT improvment my first two years on it. ... (13 replies)

... CARRIE22 : Yes, if I were you I'd be wary of Fosamax. Have you considered Forteo? Maybe ask your doc if this might be an alternative to the Fosamax for you. I'm not on it myself, but there are many posters on this board who are, most seem to be having very good outcomes. I works in a different way to the biphosphonate drugs (Fosamax, Actonel, Boniva) - actually... (5 replies)
