Hi there!

I hope you are doing well!

I actually am going through all of this right now and it's been extremely nerve wrecking!

I went in a month ago for a regular pap check up which was my first time in like 5 years because i've not had insurance until now, and my results showed ASCUS with hpv. HPV and i've only ever had one sexual partner (my husband) so it was a bit of a shock, but I guess it happens more often than not. Because my results weren't clear, they did a colpo two weeks ago which i was really nervous about, but I swear it's a breeze! Whole procedure took about 10 minutes. You go in there and the doc will have you put your legs in the stirrups just like they do for a pap smear, then he or she will insert a sternum to open up the cervix and make it easier for them to see what is going on in the area through the magnifying colpo tool. The doc will then put a solution on your cervix and if any cells look abnormal they will turn a certain color, white i believe, and then they will take a biopsy sample and get it tested and that's about it! It's so quick and the only minor uncomfortable part is when/if they take a biopsy. It feels just like a pms cramp and they do advise to take a pain reliever before to help out, and it does.

Let me know how it goes and best of luck to you!
