Generally recovery is pretty easy. You probably should take it easy for the first couple days/weeks, like no heavy lifting, or extraordinarily strenous activity. Nothing in the vagina for 4 weeks - no sex, no tampons (although my doctor said I could use tampons if I was very careful not to aggravate the cervix...I stuck with pads). You might have a discharge for up to six weeks.

The procedure was not painful for me at all. If you feel any pain during the procedure (if you have a local) be sure to tell the doctor to give you more anesthetic. There is NO REASON to feel pain during the procedure. I was crampy - moderate period like cramps for a good day or two after, and tired (more from the worrying beforehand). I took a couple advil about 1 hour before the procedure. Don't know if it helped or not, but it sure didn't hurt ;)
