My OBGYN called me today wants to see me Monday I will die before then because I am worried sick therefore I went to Radiologist and picked up my results maybe someone can shed some light on this for me.

Brief history... heavy menstrual periods since my daughter was born 9 yrs ago alsways uterine fibroids usually 3 - thick uterine lining - period always on time though every 23-25 days. but very heavy for only 2 days!
Had a Pap smear in Nov.2006 that was normal

Had my Transvaginal and abdominal Ultrasound done last week 1 DAY BEFORE my period! dont know if this makes a difference or not.

But here is my results and I am worried ! Should I be? WHat does this mean? I already knew i had a retroverted uterus for years and it was always this size - size of ovaries are also the same as on my last 3 ultrasounds in the past 3 yrs. so nothing really changed there. I think what worries me most is the stuff I will put in BOLD letters:

FINDINGS: Routine endovaginal and transabdominal ultrasound of the pelvis reveals the uterus measuring 9.4. x 7.8 x 6.0 cm in retroverted position.

The endometrial stripe is slightly thickened (1.4 cm)

A small intramural uterine fibroid is present which measures 1.0 x 0.7
A NABOTHIAN CYST or SUBMUCOSAL uterine fibroid is not seen. The left and right ovaries measure 3.0 x 2.8 x 2.6 cm and 3.0 x 1.9 x 1.8 cm, symmetrically

A dominant 1.7 x 1.2 x 1.4 com complex appearing left ovarian cyst is present. No fluid is seen in the cul-de-sac...

IMPRESSION
1. Small 1 cm intramural uterine fibroid
2 retroverted normal appearing uterus with slightly thickened endometrial stripe -- consider endometrial hyperplasia due to infectious or inflammatory disease... OCCULT NEOPLASTIC DISEASE is also a consideration
Correlation with clinical findings and PAP smear is recommended.
3. Complex appearing 1.7 cm left ovarian cyst.
4 Ultrasound pelvis otherwise negative

The bold stuff really concerns me! My pap that i had done in Nov. 2006 was OK. WHy now another one 3 month later. I am worried sick now.

Thanks in advance,
Manuela
