Recurrent CIN III
Sep 10, 2007

Approximately 3 years ago I had a LEEP procedure done for CIN III. It was caused by the HPV virus. Two years after the operation I had a period that had lasted for 3 weeks. My GP did a pap smeer and the results were clear so I did not see the specialist.

I have now had a period for almost 10 weeks and I have an appointment to see the gynecologist this Friday. I do not have any infections. Naturally, I am thinking that I have recurrent CIN III. I have done a lot of reading on treatments for recurrent CIN II and III and I am wondering if other people have had success with any of them. The treatments that I have read about are listed below:

1) Histerectomy (complete or partial).

2) Indole-3-Carbinol and Folic Acid supplements.

3) Therapeutic vaccination with MVA E2.

I have read that good results were obtained using therapeutic vaccination with MVA E2 to eliminate precancerous lesions. I realize that at this point I do not know if it is recurrent CIN, but I am preparing myself for it.

The gynecologist said that I would not be able to get rid of the HPV virus. Is this correct? Any feedback would be appreciated.
