Cancer: Cervical & Ovarian Board Index

Has anyone had a negative Pap test yet had your doctor find lesions on your cervix during colposcopy? I've been all over the internet this weekend looking for that topic and no luck. I also read bleeding with sex is a sign of cancer not pre-cancer. Does anyone know if that is true? I keep hoping that somehow this is some unusual benign condition.

I can't get my test colpo/ECC/endometrial biopsy results for 1 1/2 weeks. I'm really freaked out about this. The waiting is awful. If you have any advice about how I can get my mind off of this, I'd really appreciate it. I do have kids and work to do but this is on my mind 24/7.

Please please share if you know the answers to my questions.
Are you saying that your Dr. did a colpo because of post-coital bleeding? Your PAP could have been negative simply because the lesion was not swabed when Dr. took the PAP sample. This is very common. In my view, an acetic acid wash of the cervix should always be done at the time of PAP/annual exam--it's painless and takes only seconds. This would allow the Dr. to take a biopsy at that time (if lesion is seen) rather than having to wait for PAP results, then return for colposcopy/biopsy and wait for those results. Keep in mind, an acetowhite lesion is not neccesarily dysplasia. You will need to wait for biopsy results. Try not to worry (easier said than done, I know)--focus on boosting your body's immune system. If it is "low-grade" HPV related lesion (CIN I), most of the time, your body can clear this without treatment.
