| Hi and welcome! Mild and moderate dysplasia does not always turn in to cancer. Very often, your body's immune system can reverse the process totally. This is why doctors often take a "watchful waiting" course of action with anything less than severe dysplasia or carcinoma in situ.
As mentioned too, even in the worse case scenario, it can take years for dysplasia to turn in to cancer, if it ever does.
(It took from the middle of December last year when I got my latest abnormal Pap results to May of this year for me to go through the colposcopy/biopsy and be scheduled for laser surgery for carcinoma in situ. Five months. No rush, evidentially.)
Big hugs,
Lisa |
