Cancer: Cervical & Ovarian Board Index

Ah the joys of atypical glandular cells. While this news SUCKS, I can definitely tell you that you've come to the right place.

Here's what I think you would expect at the ob/gyn: She will probably do a colposcopy, most likely with biopsies, and an ECC to check for problem higher up in the cervical canal. If this confirms glandular abnormalities, the recommended treatment should be cold kinife cone biopsy, not LEEP. With glandular changes, it's very important that they get "clear margins" from the surgery, and LEEP burns the edge of the sample so it's not always possible to tell whether the margins are clear or not.

Also, going to the ob/gyn is good, but the best thing would be to go straight to the gynecologic oncologist. I'm not saying you have cancer, but glandular changes are relatively rare and gynecologists don't deal with them that often. Best thing is to go to the real expert: a gynecologic oncologist.
