Thanks, Zoe.
That is a very good question. The type of cancer is adenoma malignum, also called mimimally deviant adenocarcinoma (MDA). It is rare as it is often misdiagnosed as the atypical glandular cells resemble benign cervical cells. There was not a lymph node dissection only because they were not suspecting this. My gyn onc at Columbia Presbyterian in Ny is recommending this aggresive treatment and her colleages at Sloan Kettering are in agreement. Iam presently trying to have a converstaion with a pathologist at Mass General who has published considerably with regard the adenoma malignum although there are little case studies out there. I do NOT want the pelvic radiation although if all the experts are inclined to believe this is the best approach, I guess I will participate. I have a little time...3 weeks since my LAVH and my best advocate for me is me. I appreciate your insight and all you have learned in your battle. Would love to hear from you again. Thanks.
