Ovarian Pelvic Mass
Oct 18, 2009
I am 45 years old, have only my right ovary after a hysterectomy and later an oopharectomy (sp) I have had a history of ovarian cysts but have felt pretty good for 4-5 years. The last couple months I have had very low back pain (I am on my feet a lot) but can not get total relief from anything. Pain the the pelvic area, painful intercourse, general ill stomach, bloating, bowels irregular, tired. I also have a feeling when I sit down of pain in my pelvis that seem to be pushed on from my rectal area. Had an ultrasound, then transvaginal that showed what they called a 4.8cm x5.1cm ovarian mass. They said that the ovary is now midline. My Internist ordered a CT scan and to get to a Gyn. I actually have a pretty good pain tolerance but some days it is pretty tough. Also, my ca-125 is within normal.
Obviously I am concerned with the possibility of ovarian cancer and was wondering if anyone can give me a little advice on what they would do. I actually feel like I want this thing out?! What should I expect from my doctor?
ANY feedback would be so much appreciated.
Thank You in advance
