Cancer: Cervical & Ovarian Message Board

Cancer: Cervical & Ovarian Board Index

To make a long story short, I recently posted a thread on here because I had abnormal pap results this past June. My pap results came back HGSIL and after a colpo & 3 biospy's the results came back CIN III. My doctor scheduled a cone biopsy, and I had it 3 weeks ago.
Last Wednesday I went for my "post-op" and unfortunately my cone biopsy results came back as CIS. My doctor told me that the results still showed that there were cells still on my cervix. Apperently, after the surgery, she burnt the edges of the cone within my cervix, so she is hoping that those remaining CIS cells were burnt in that process (but she is unsure). In order to be positive that the cells are gone, I have to wait two months (for my cervix to completely heal) and then I will have another colpo/tests to determine whether or not the cells are still there. I went from a normal pap last year to CIS this year...my doctor seems to think that these cells are progressing too fast for comfort at this point.
Also, during the post-op visit my doctor sat me down and asked me what my plans were for having children. It was extremely overwhelming because after the cone biopsy, those results were not at all what I expected. I have a 10 year old daughter, but I am still hoping for one more child. I am scared, shocked, and devestated at how serious this seems to be.

My question is, has anyone ever experienced anything like this? If anything, I would just like to know that I am not the only person in the world going through this. I keep telling myself that it's not that serious, but at the same time I believe it is. I don't think it has really hit me how close to cancer I could be right now. I am praying for a clear test in 2 months and ready for this drama to be over with so I can live a normal, healthy life.
