Cancer: Cervical & Ovarian Board Index

Hi, I am new here. After researching the internet for a week, I came across this site. you all seem to be very enocouraging and offer good advice.
I was recently diagnosed with a 2.7cm complex cyst on my right ovary. The ultrasound report defines it as having internal septations and echoes. There was also a small amount of free fluid in the cul de sac. Being an xray tech myself (before I had children), I know this isn't good. I am scared out of my mind. My regular dr has referred me to a gynecologist and I am still waiting for the referral to go through. I initially went to the dr because I was/am having lower left abd pain along with back and shoulder. I never expected to hear I have a cyst of this nature on the OPPOSITE side. I am 35 and have three young children. This is also the first time I am dealing with any ovary issues. If anybody with similiar experience or words of enocouragment, PLEASE share. I feel so alone right now and can't sleep or concentrate.
