It is possible that CIN can be in the endocervical canal, even if clear below, yes. But it is also possible that your curettage sample could have been contaminated with fragments of cells from lower in the canal. What did your doc think about it?

Endocervical gland involvement usually means you need a bit closer follow up. There have been some studies that suggest that there is a greater risk of recurrent dysplasia if you have endocervical gland involvement. I'd post links to the studies if I could, but that's not allowed on this board.

In any case, clear margins is a great thing, so congrats on that. What's your plan for follow up? Keeping my fingers crossed for you for future clear paps.

I haven't seen the doctor yet - that happens on Friday. I'm rather frazzled by this - I hadn't expected to hear CIN-3 because the previous biopsies had been CIN-1. However, the doctor has been unable to do a colposcopy of any size because I had c-sections and so the cervix has not been open enough to get a good sample. And so I pushed for the LEEP which I guess is a good thing considering.
