... LEEP generally isn't done for CIN 1 unless it's persisted for awhile without receding. My CIN 1 progressed to CIN 3 in less than 6 months, but that's not typical. ... (23 replies)

... I had an irregular pap smear which showed abnormal cells a couple weeks ago. A culposcopy/ biopsy was done on 4/9. The dr said there were mild changes in the lab results and diagnosed it as being CIN-1. She recommended we wait and see if my immune system fights it off, then do a repeat pap smear in 4-6 months and to let her know if I have more irregular bleeding/ spotting.... (2 replies)

... tool for abnormalities, which is why there is sometimes a discrepancy between the pap results and the biopsy. They can't make a diagnosis with the pap alone. The biopsy is much more accurate in making a diagnosis, so if it came back as CIN 1 and they are monitoring it, I wouldnt worry about the pap result. ... (3 replies)
