I just had a LEEP where my OB said she had to take out quite a bit and isn't sure if the pathology will show clear margins due to taking it out in pieces (apparently it is easier to tell if you can do one swipe but she said when you have a lot it is tough to do that). Not sure how old you are but my OB (she is new to me by the way as my last OB left to teach) said she doesn't... (2 replies)
... Hi, Bryson. At this point it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a second opinion from another doc to see what options might be available. It depends on how severe your dysplasia was, where it was located, and why it keeps coming back. There are other treaments, like cone biopsy, which can remove more tissue and from deeper in the canal, but whether or not that would be appropriate... (5 replies)

I will definitely ask the doctors what my last HPV test results were, I know I was tested positive for high risk a year or two ago, but I'm hoping that's cleared up. ... you test negative for high risk HPV i don't see why he would suggest a cone biopsy...that's a very invasive procedure for mild dysplasia...at most I would say a repeat LEEP...discuss this with him or try to get a second opinion! ... (3 replies)
