... ad things are getting taken care of. I actually have detoxed off of Fenanyl two times in the past. Once off of 50mcg, and another time off of 37mcg, both times weaning down to 12, then dealing with a week and a half of bad DT's. ... (63 replies)

... You should do one at a time to reduce your WD's. The Fentanyl patch could go down to the 12.5 MCG and then after you adjust start the neurontin. ... (4 replies)
... rson's pain, may not for another's. If, however, you decide that you would rather deal with the pain without the benefit of a narcotic med, then the protocol for weaning or tapering off the Fent would be the way to go. Of course, as always, you should discuss this with your doctor before attempting any med discontinuation. ... (15 replies)
... Dave I've been on the Duregisc patch for 3 years the last 2 years 100mg every 48 hours, the patch was the only relief I had for the pain. I was actually bent over my bed in pain, and couldn't get no relief, with any kind of meds before the patches. ... (9 replies)

... I would suggest weaning from the fentanyl patches very slowly by going down to the 12mcg dose if possible and then use some other lower strength medication (ie. hydrocodone, oxycodone). for a week or so and then finally stop. Then you can start to decrease the Neurontin. Can I ask why you are trying to get off of all these medications? Is your pain alot better? brian (4 replies)
... Depending on how he received this, I'd be tempted to remind him of his medical oath of "do no harm." Stepping off from 25 to nothing is NOT reasonable. Fentanyl is the strongest opioid on the market and as I posted earlier, a 25 patch is equal to 60mg of Oxy per day. You don't step off from 60mg of Oxy to nothing. ... (28 replies)
... ay. Also no constipation! Only been taking it month and a half. I do feel that I am getting better relief than other pills. ... Oh yeah, I'd definitely say you're dependent on the Fentanyl at this point, meaning you will have WD's if you stop it cold turkey, but that's the whole idea of weaning off of it properly! ... (3 replies)
... hence the withdrawl btw. doses. You are on the patch which is still fentanyl so you still have it in your system and therefore don't get if you were not to have the patch you'd feel it. ... (13 replies)
